Thank you for visiting our website

California is currently home to over 38 million people. We have a larger economy than the countries of Mexico, Taiwan, and New Zealand combined. Shockingly, we still have our challenges when it comes to providing proper coverage, for our residents, pertaining to basic items that we may take for granted such as auto insurance, health insurance and often times a decent hourly wage for many workers. Even with the ratification of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010, there has not been a dramatic change due to a variety of complicated reasons. while keeping the above mentioned items in mind, we’d like to provide a little insight to our multi-faceted industry while explaining how we may assist with some of your injured clientele.

Our story

Creative Legal Funding is a specialty finance company that has a two-fold mission. First and foremost, CLF helps to facilitate medical care on a lien basis for injured plaintiffs that do not possess adequate health insurance.

We work with many different specialty treatment providers up throughout California. As a secondary offering, CLF is a provider of a wide variety of financial options that include non-recourse pre-settlement cash advances for injured plaintiffs during their time of need. These advances are typically directed towards basic living expenses such as groceries, rent, car payments, and a variety of other needs. We specialize in clients with existing personal injury claims, employment law cases, medical malpractice cases, and others plaintiff cases involving a potential future financial resolution.

A year prior, he started his own Consulting Business, JW Consulting & Management. After 3 surgeries and extensive rehabilitation, he has mostly recovered. Mr. Waller moved to Sacramento in 2015 to work with CLF as the Regional Marketing Manager and to help establish territory in East Bay and Central Valley. Mr. Waller also has a Degree in Business Management from San Francisco State University.

Tru Mai Armstrong

Tru Mai joined Creative Legal Funding in 2016 to lend her expertise to growing the business and focusing on client retention and satisfaction. Tru Mai’s background in health education adds value to the team through her understanding of the medical field and her compassion for the needs of those seeking assistance in paying their medical bills. A runner and a golfer, Tru Mai spends her free time with her two daughters and helping her husband train their pup, Tucker.

Brett Hansbery

In 2005, Brett was involved in a major automobile accident. He suffered traumatic injuries that required four surgeries. Brett was covered by a private health insurance policy, but even with his coverage, his out of pocket expenses reached the five-figure level over the three year case period.

Like millions of Americans with no health insurance, Brett experienced first-hand the financial strains that often burden Accident Victims – which is exactly why he started Creative Legal Funding.

Lacie Rivera

Marketing Coordinator

Lacie started working with Creative Legal Funding in 2012 as an administration assistant and is now our current Office Manager in charge of accounts payable and receivable. She is a devoted single mom of two and has a passion for volunteering in her community with various organizations serving the homeless and economically disadvantaged. Her hobbies include photography, hiking and gardening.

Cheryl Costa

Case Manager

Cheryl has worked in the legal field for over 32 years – first as a legal secretary, then a court reporter, then to a new law firm with 16 years of experience to boot. This is where she met Brett Hansbery; Brett immediately recognized Cheryl’s merits and offered her a position as Case Manager for Creative Legal Funding. When she’s not working, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her husband of over 23 years and two teenage boys.
